Starting accutane

I haven’t started yet but I asked my doctor about if because I’ve struggled with acne since puberty and nothing I have tried before helps. It always scars even if I don’t touch it or poke at it but my skin itself is not that bad. He put me on a 40mg dose for 6 months so I’m curious if my skin will purge badly or what side effects are most common other than dryness. Will the purge be less severe if my skin is not bad to begin with or will it be worse than my flare ups now.
