Data Analyst vs Electrician?

Hello all!

May delete later I feel weird venting to strangers but I’m shootin, full transparency. I’m 31 (M) and in the middle of a career change. For the past couple of years I’ve built up skills to transition into analytics, no degree, but attended a coding bootcamp and acquired a few certificates as well as some projects to showcase what I can do. Seems like it’s the same song for everyone in this field, send out hundreds of applications to no avail. I send apps daily but either don’t hear back or get rejected. Yes, I adjust every resume for each job post. I’ve only had one interview back in January but that’s it. Quite frankly I feel I’m fighting an uphill battle with those who have years of experience and multiple degrees and even those people don’t hear back.

I’ve always had an interest in becoming an electrician and was always my plan B. As mentioned previously I’m 31 and I feel like I’m running out of time (I know I’m still young) in terms of taking chances. I’m considering going back to college for a degree but again, people with masters degrees aren’t getting any luck so I feel like I’d be wasting my time vs doing an apprenticeship for the same 4 years but I would atleast have better luck landing a job.

I appreciate all opinions, I have no one to guide me I’ve been figuring it out on my own. Should I stick with it and keep applying or apply for an apprenticeship, what say you?

Thanks!
