Travel amounts?

For the Union 669 JATC.

For reference i'm 19 Male and planning to relocate ~2.5 hours for this.

I'm curious on how much and the actual traveling process, selection, amount it happens, how long for, and really anything I should know about the travel. I'm specifically in the Indianapolis area if thats needed. I also wanted to know if this is going to have a good work life balance. Am I going to be able to maintain a relationship, is traveling states away for months on end realistic? How long would a standard assignment be etc. About the only thing I know and the only information ive gotten was my interview I had earlier today & I want to know. Any other information is welcomed because I am really interested in this career and dont know as to all to expect.

TL;DR How often and long are assignments normally and if possible can I set a time limit if far and can I make a relationship work if its just starting out if I do this? Finally, any and all information or things you think I should know I want to hear.
