My parents are radicalized and I am unsure how to help.

22F. My parents are conservative and I’m more liberal. If at all politics came up, we used to calmly / respectfully debate.

After October 7th, they became more radical. They talk about Muslims wanting world domination, compared them to rats and even framed Trumps “a whole civilization will die tonight” post as being a good thing.

The way they talk about Muslims frightens me. I will be calm, offer a different opinion, ask a question etc. and lately they react in an abusive manner of yelling at me or accusing me of being pro-Hamas or a communist. I am neither of these things! They get so enraged and angry that I hardly recognize them. 😢

Because of that I don’t discuss politics anymore like at all but my parents just sit and watch the news all day and get mad. It’s consumed them entirely. I’m so worried about it.

What can I do? They weren’t always like this but it’s got to a point where they talk about Islamic extremism everyday. My brother and I miss the people they once were. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
