So hurt & conflicted

My son is now 15 months old, and I returned to work when he was 5.5 months old.

He was with a nanny for five months, and then we switched to daycare when he was 10 months old.

He is there from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., M-F. He spends more time with them than he does with us during the week.The bit has always bothered me, but he genuinely loves it there.

Yesterday, I picked him up, and when they handed him off, he cried and reached back for his teacher, and I couldn't get him in his stroller. My heart broke. I felt rejected because he was choosing them over us.

I am trying to talk myself down from quitting because I can't. My husband is building his business, so we need the two incomes, and I am why we have health insurance.

Has anyone had this experience before?
