My family just launched a small handcrafted soap business
My family just launched a small handcrafted soap business and I'd love your honest feedback (and maybe your support if it's your thing)
Hi
A bit of background: my family has always been obsessed with travel. Not the Instagram version of it, the real kind. The smell of fig trees in Barcelona at dusk. Waking up to lemon groves on the Amalfi coast. Walking through Kyoto temples wrapped in hinoki mist. Those sensory memories that stay with you for years.
My partner had this idea that those memories deserve to live somewhere beyond a photo album. So she started making soap. Handcrafted, small-batch, inspired by specific places we'd visited and loved. Every bar is essentially a sensory postcard.
I've been helping her build the brand **Favescent** in whatever spare time I have. Website, photography, planning collections, packing orders from the kitchen table. It's been a lot of late nights and a fair few disasters along the way (our first batch of Barcelona Fig did NOT smell like Barcelona).
We've now done three collections Barcelona, Amalfi, and Kyoto - all sold out, which honestly still feels surreal. Our fourth, Mallorca, is pre-ordering right now ahead of a June launch.
I'm not here to spam you. I genuinely want honest thoughts:
- Does the concept resonate? Travel-inspired luxury soap, limited runs, small-batch.
- Is £18 a bar reasonable for this kind of product?
- What would make you actually click pre-order vs scroll past?
If you're curious, the site is **favescent.com** I'd genuinely love to know what you think, good or bad.
And if you've been looking for a gift for someone who travels and loves nice things... well, the Mallorca pre-order is open. No pressure at all, honest feedback is worth just as much to us right now.
Thanks for reading. 🧼
