I met my partner's new boo by surprise...while digging through trash...at a different house than my own 😂

So my partner works from home and has complained about a smoke alarm or some such beep going of nonstop for about a week now. They are going NUTS.

Well today I was home and I finally heard it. Partner was spending time with their new boo, hadn't been home since yesterday and wasn't expecting them back anytime soon. So I go out in my home-cleaning stained ratty sweats, determined to find this damn thing. I zero in on a trash bag of a few houses down that is a college rental. I see the occupant in the house and ask if they hear the beep and yadiyada, I'm digging in the trash when my partner and their new boo, apparently on a walk, run into me.
