What is the major difference in girl scouts from the 80s/90s to now? Is it a lot more negative now?
Ladies, some of us were scouts in our day, and now our own daughters are embarking on starting their own Girl Scout chapters.
My daughter has just turned 5, she is in Pre K, and I just reached out to start getting her signed up in our area.
The world is so different now! The internet alone has changed everything. Do they still have the trips, the camps, the educational experiences, the hands on world citizens stewardship that was fostered at least in my little troop? Am I looking at trying to squeak our awkward selves into a collection of cliques dominated by the cookie selling parents who take over selling from their kids? I see so many comments from moms right now saying they don't get along with the other moms in the troop, that there's a lot of drama and a lot fewer activities.
What is your take? If you did girl scouts as a kid and have daisy/brownie/girl scouts of your own now, what changes have you noticed?
