Feeling out of place in my own city

I’m a traditionally-minded woman living in a major city, and I often feel uncomfortable expressing that part of myself....like wearing my red hat or anything that feels conservative. Lately, I’ve been tempted to move somewhere more politically aligned with my values, but my work is in-person and hard to leave.

Has anyone ever uprooted their life for reasons like this? I’d love to hear your experiences, thoughts, or advice.
