(META POST) People getting defensive on this sub.

I can be a chronically annoyed person, and I enjoy talking about my annoyances. Naturally, I post with some frequency on this sub. Every single time, without fail, no matter how minor the peeve I'm talking about is, someone in the comments will take it personally and either sass me or outright try to argue with me about it. I see it happen on pretty much every other post on the sub too.

Now that wouldn't be an issue in probably any other context, but this is the PET PEEVES sub. It is specifically intended for people to come vent about extremely specific things that irk them for whatever reason. Why someone would willingly visit this sub just to get mad AT the peeves and then try to shame someone for having the peeve is completely beyond me. It is antithetical to the stated purpose of the sub.
