What's your go to rec for your favourite genre?

For me it's Legend by David Gemmell. I love heroic fantasy, and the GOAT is definitely Gemmell.

What I love even more about this book is that it was his very first and he knocked it out of the fortress.

The premise is simple and immediately hooky: an aged warrior goes to help the defense of the world's greatest fortress against the greatest army ever seen.

For anyone wanting to know what heroic fantasy is like, I'd recommend Legend. What's your number 1 for your favourite genre?
