Why do people in other ring groups have such a big issue with big diamonds?

I feel like it’s partially propagated by people who think lab diamonds are somehow inferior to natural diamonds, and they assume big = lab grown so therefore inferior. I can’t imagine seeing a post about someone’s ring they love and commenting something negative about the size but it happens so frequently. What is fueling that hate?
