AI generated dating profile pics are becoming a norm and it's fake and gay
I'll probably get told to change the name of the title lol XD oh well, I think once I post it I'm unable to change it so I'll take my chances. Just trying to provoke people to read this.
So first thing is: I don't even use dating apps anymore. I haven't bothered with it for a long time. I tried it for years, and it worked for dates a few times, but meeting girls irl is infinitely more enjoyable and better, you get to be yourself and they see you for who you are, not who you write yourself up to be, and people are way more enjoyable in person than in writing/static images online anyway.
But onto the point of this post...
The point of this post is just to let everyone know (if you didn't already) that there are so many AI apps that make realistic AI photos (I'm not talking about office/LinkedIn photos, but like legit remakes of your images to the point where you can look like you've travelled the world and you have an amazing life - without even leaving your laptop) and change the foreground and background, and improve your skin, face, and smile, etc. to the point where online dating, fake as it was before, is infinitely more fake than ever before. The worst part is it doesn't even look fake. It looks realistic and believable. So unless the person you're interacting with is genuine and tells you it's AI generated, you'll never even know.
I genuinely care about this community because I met one of my favourite girls in the world on here last year - one of my best friends - (and made a post about it a little while ago) - and also, since it's free, and most people on here are actually genuine Christians, it's worth staying on here and contributing helpful things to the community.
But I'd have second thoughts about dating apps if I were you. Probably work on your spontaneity in making conversation at church/coffee shops (if you live in a country where you might meet a Christian girl/guy outside the church like in the USA), and your humour and wit, and ability to make conversation about all things, not just our faith, to make real connections offline. Learn your Bible, know God deeply, and make lots of friends both guys and girls. Share the gospel as often as you can, this is the #1 confidence booster for social skills as a side benefit - the Lord really gives you so much boldness in life if you just follow the Great Commission without expecting blessings, He just blesses you with spiritual things like the ability to speak confidently, courageously, be yourself in all your personality and feel free about who you are.
Anyway, I've made a few tangential comments in this post but what I'm trying to communicate in this post is I really believe online dating is reached a state of emergency and as Christians I think if there's tech companies keep pushing their ads on social media like they are to create fake AI pictures and pass it off as acceptable and "normal" and "not dishonest at all..." literally 90% of dating app profile photos are gonna be AI generated (and they look so real too - they don't even look over the top and artificial at this point.)
Anyway, that's all I wanna say. Be a man or woman made in the image of God, not made in the image of degenerative AI lying to your potential girlfriend or boyfriend with fake photos - or being tricked into dating someone who is doing this with their images.
God bless you all <3
