FAQ: Swingerclubs in the Netherlands

NSFWDiscussion

As we're getting lots of international visitors to this Subreddit, asking all kinds of questions, we decided to make an FAQ about some of the questions we see a lot of the times. This post will be updated with more questions and suggestions from you guys! You can ask questions down below and will be added if needed.

Q: Can tourists visit Dutch swinger clubs?
A: Yes! Most clubs welcome international couples. You usually don’t need a membership — Entry fees can be completed at the entrance (cash or card). In some cases you might need a ticket.

Q: Where can we find all the clubs?
A: Pretty much every province of the Netherlands has one (Sorry Zeelanders and Flevolanders). You can find an extensive list of locations in the Mega-thread. For traveling purposes; the big cities are usually within an hour of travel time (and shorter) such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Eindhoven.

Q: Do people speak English?
A: In larger clubs near the Randstad/Big Cities most guests and staff speak good English. In smaller or more local clubs it can be mostly Dutch. The more rural clubs near the German border usually accomodate for German guests aswell.

Q: Do I need to reserve and what does it cost?
A: A reservation is usually mandatory. You'll help the clubs this way to prepare for a certain amount of visitors and their catering. You'll also be certain of entry even if a club is sold out. Prices are typically €100–€180 per couple (often all-inclusive with food & drinks). Single ladies are often cheaper; single men pay more or are only allowed on certain nights (generally Fridays).

Q: Which days are best?
A: Friday and Saturday are busiest. Sunday is often calmer and more relaxed. Always check the club’s calendar.

Q: Are single men allowed?
A: It varies per club and per evening. Most clubs have events on Friday where solo men are welcome. Saturdays are primarily Couples/Ladies only. Always check the agenda.

Q: What are the house rules?
A: Check the website of each club for their own house rules. In general, you can expect:

  • Consent is everything — “No means no”.
  • No photos or videos.
  • Towel required in play areas.
  • Respect the dress code (often chic/sexy or theme night).
  • No pressure to play.

Q: How do I get there from Amsterdam / Schiphol?
A: Many clubs are reachable by car (most offer free parking). Taxi/Uber or a combination of train + taxi also works for clubs near Amsterdam or other cities. Be aware that Public Transport does not have night trains or buses in the rural areas. Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam generally do. (For public transport advice: 9292.nl > Click top right for English)

Q: What should we wear? Is there a strict dress code?
A: On arrival, most people wear normal smart/casual clothes. Many clubs have an “undress deadline” (often around 10–11 PM) after which you change into lingerie, sexy wear, or go naked in the play areas. Theme nights have specific dress codes — always check the club’s calendar. Club Monique has no casual clothing moments and is straight into lingerie upon arrival.

Q: Are we expected to play with others, or can we just watch?
A: No pressure at all! “Everything is allowed, nothing is obligatory” is a common Dutch swinger motto. Many couples visit just to watch, socialize, or enjoy the atmosphere. Consent and respect are key.

Q: Is it safe, especially for single women or female tourists?
A: Dutch swinger clubs are generally very safe and consent-focused. Staff keep an eye on the atmosphere, and “No means No” is strictly enforced. Single women are usually very welcome and often treated with extra care.

Q: Can we bring our own alcohol or food?
A: No, most clubs don’t allow outside drinks or food (some are all-inclusive). Check the club’s rules — many include drinks and a buffet in the entrance price. If you have food allergies, you can check in with the club beforehand if they can accomodate. Otherwise you can request if it is alright if you bring something yourself only in those specific cases (but more often than not, food selection is diverse enough to also accomodate for dietary requests or allergies).

Q: Are there any clubs open during the week (Monday–Thursday)?
A: Most clubs are only open Friday–Sunday, but some (like Azzurra on Thursdays for couples) have mid-week openings. Some clubs have special themes like gangbang-afternoons on Wednesdays.

Q: What is a good way to connect with the regulars/locals?
A: We're humorous folk, so prepare a few funny jokes about Dutch people and you'll win over our hearts quickly! We also love to hear you try speaking a few Dutch words!

Q: Any other tips for tourists?
A: If you're planning for a club that takes a while to drive to, be sure to bring some comfy clothes for the trip back. Let's be honest, it's much more comfortable sitting in puffy pants and an oversized sweater after a night of fun ;)
Also be sure to check if a location (specifically the sauna's) have towels available for free. This is *almost always* the case for clubs, but not for the erotic sauna's.
