Difficult health problems
17M, chronic knee pain (pes anserine area?) + weird symptoms, looking for similar experiences
Hey, I’ve been dealing with knee issues for about a year now.
Main symptoms:
• pain/tight pulling around the inner knee (pes anserine area)
• sometimes spreads into the inner thigh/adductors
• occasional discomfort in Achilles too
• symptoms fluctuate a lot (sometimes better, sometimes worse)
• recently started having weird numbness sensations around the knee (not tingling, more like dull numb feeling)
Important:
• symptoms can appear even without load
• but walking (especially more steps) tends to make it worse
• I used to train a lot (basketball, jumping, heavy leg work, low recovery)
What I tried:
• physio exercises (mixed results, sometimes better, sometimes flare-ups)
• rest helps a bit but doesn’t fully solve it
Now I’m waiting for a rheumatology check to rule out systemic issues.
Questions:
1. Has anyone had something similar with both tendon-like pain AND numbness?
2. Does this still sound like tendinopathy or something else (nervous system involvement maybe)?
3. What actually helped you long-term (not just temporary relief)?
4. How did you manage load vs rest in a situation like this?
Appreciate any real experiences 🙏
Background:
Basketball player, used to high volume (jumping, running, sometimes trained through pain and fatigue)
