Anyone else had this kind of test ?

I had a call today and they said I needed to do a polysomnography which involved being wired up and then sent home wearing the equipment to sleep in my own bed before returning the next morning and having naps throughout the day. Has anyone had a similar test and been sent home for the over night part ? I’m worried because the hospital is an hour away and I won’t be able to drive as I will be off my stimulants. If I can’t get a lift I can only afford to get a train and might find it a bit embarrassing walking through central station all wired up haha 😝 is this a common test for narcolepsy ?
