Camaro security-follow up
Last month I ask for suggestions because the fob for my car didn’t lock/unlock unless I was right next to the car.
I’m now sharing the results.
Car audio shops couldn’t help me. I’d already bought fob from pop a lock and they couldn’t help me. I took it the dealer. They tried it, changed the battery( I’d done that twice) checked everything on the car side , then tested the fob independent of the car. They determined that the ( 6 mo old) fob was faulty. I had to replace the and make a new key. That and a replacement gas cap cost me 6 days and $700.😫. But it works and for now my check engine light is off.
That fob was purchased from pop a lock and was 6 months old. I bought it to replace another fob I bought from them that only lasted 3 months. They do no warranty fobs. At this one has a 2 year warranty.
Guess who’ll not be calling again. Even if they do come to the house.
BTW The remote was $386 plus the key kit, plus the programming.
