laptop to monitor display issues

i have a hp victus which is connected to a gigabyte monitor gs27qa via a hdmi but it only gives me 144 hz but the monitor can go upto 180 hz and it needs a dp cable to get it i tried a type c to dp cable it gave me 2k@60hz or 120Hz if i change it to 180hz it changes the resolution to 1920x1200@180hz what am i supposed to do here
