Today (Thursday 9th April) at around 7:30 PM my friend came across a ferret while on a walk in Cheshunt Park, Hertfordshire. I myself own one ferret already (her brother passed away in January) so he messaged me checking if it was mine, it wasn’t. I grabbed my pet carrier and walked to the park where the ferret was willingly walking along with my friend, extremely friendly and curious. Hopping around through the grass with quite some energy so I don’t believe he could’ve been out there for long. I asked a couple residents in the buildings show in the photo, the red marker is where my friend noticed the ferret. One resident said a neighbour owned ferrets but called him and said none of his were missing so without anymore leads I took the little guy home with me and he is safe.

My family has already made posts on facebook to try and find the owner. I do plan to go back to the person we spoke to and leave my phone number (I forgot to do that before) just in case one of their neighbours turns out to be the owner. I assume most likely it’s from this stretch of buildings but it was dark out and we only felt comfortable knocking on the only 2 houses with their lights on.

I’m sorry this is a lot to read, hopefully this reaches the owner, or one of our other posts elsewhere. All advice is welcome, I’ve never handled something like this before
