People not pluralising words ending in “ist”

Bit Annoyed

On social media and the like, I genuinely see more people type, for example “many artist” or “some therapist” or “a lot of scientist” than I see adding an “s” at the end of those words, as they’re supposed to.

I’m not infallible by any means, and I understand that when people speak, a lot of the time they may say what sounds more like “artiss” or “scientiss”, so they just kind of type how they speak, but surely it’s pretty obvious that when you’re talking about multiple “dentists” or “neurologists”, it’s not plural until an “s” is added on the end…many of us say a lot of words differently to how we spell them, but this is one that comes up all the time. I feel like 9/10 people do this.

Don’t get me started on people saying “eckcetra” and spelling it “ect” lol

In fact, I could go on all night…
