Faces of Death (1978)... what a disappointment

This movie always gets thrown around when discussion about traumatic horror movies comes up, so I was excited to find it newly added to Tubi. Supposedly it was banned all over because it was so graphic, it gave people nightmares, caused health risks by watching it, etc., etc... I don't get it. It was interesting, maybe borderline disturbing, but far from scary or traumatic. I caught myself dozing during certain parts because at times it felt like a school lecture instead of a horror movie. Am I missing something?
