Hi everyone,

I recently got a 2010 BMW R1200RT (DOHC) and I’m looking to replace the aftermarket nav block currently mounted on the cockpit bar with a Quad Lock setup.

I have a few questions and would love to hear from anyone who’s done something similar:

	1.	Quad Lock Wireless charging on the RT — Has anyone managed to install the Quad Lock induction/wireless charger on their R1200RT? If so, how did you wire it up exactly? I’m attaching a photo of the GPS cable that currently powers the nav block — do you think this cable could be reused to power the Quad Lock charger once the nav block is removed?

	2.	Disconnecting the GPS cable from the nav block — Is it just a matter of pressing a clip and pulling, or is there a specific technique? I don’t want to force anything and break the connector.

	3.	Removing the nav block — Do you need to remove the windscreen to access the mounting screws, or is it accessible without?

	4.	iPhone camera damage from vibrations — If I end up keeping the nav block and just resting the phone on an adapter on top of it rather than switching to Quad Lock, do you think the boxer engine vibrations could damage the iPhone cameras (OIS)? The block is mounted on an articulated arm so there’s already some mechanical decoupling from the forks — would that be enough?

Thanks in advance!
