Are these symptoms normal
I went from having no issues with my right hand when starting a mechanic job. One month later I get diagnosed with moderate carpal tunnel after having an EMG nerve conduction. Unfortunately, I went to urgent care and they put me on prednisone which is now delaying my surgery because they say you have to wait three months after taking steroids so now it’s been a month and a half since the diagnosis. My hand is very swollen and tingly all the time and within one hour of laying down for bed and yes, I’m wearing a braceI have the most extreme pain I’ve ever had in my life. My hand is very, very swollen even more and my thumb index middle finger and half my ring finger go totally numb. It’s like the rocks attached to my hands and I have a horrible stabbing pain through my middle finger and it only gets worse if I lay down if I stand up, it doesn’t get worse but it doesn’t get better and it’s keeping me from sleeping. I’m literally walking around my house screaming in agony for hours and hours and sometimes I fall asleep standing up and fall down There’s just no relief from any of this.once the day does get started the extreme symptoms due start to calm down after standing for several hours . I’m getting a few hours of sleep at night at most. It’s just unbelievable the amount of pain I have and they say I can’t have surgery until May 28. I’m taking gabapentin for the pain but that’s not helping at night. It just makes me even more out of it at night while I’m walking around trying to get the pain to subside. Are these normal symptoms? I mean my fingers feel like they are about to explode every night. They hurt so bad. It’s just crazy.
