I’ve been taking VERY high doses of omega 3’s.

Question

Does anyone have personal experience or professional knowledge about omega-3 dosage in early pregnancy?

I’m currently 5+5 and have been taking about 3000 mg of fish oil daily (roughly 1000–1400 mg EPA and 720–960 mg DHA) over the past week.

I usually take higher doses of omega-3s for ADHD, so I didn’t think much of it at first. However, I wasn’t consistently taking my supplements before finding out I was pregnant, but once I did, I reorganized everything, added a prenatal, and continued my typical omega-3 dose without really questioning it. I guess I’m fortunate it’s only been a week rather than the entirety of my pregnancy thus far.

Now I’m feeling anxious that this might have been too much and could have harmed my baby. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have insight on this?
