Guide to actually beating Balatro in cryptid mod:

game says ante 8 is winning, but that’s not true. max I’ve reached is 1e308 and I thought it was fun so I’ll share how I did it

step 1 is to try and get at least 2 pointers. any method works really, I like trying to get perkeo/pointer or pointer+chambered. pro tip: if you ever acquire a pointer in cryptid, you are almost guaranteed to be able to control your run however you want.

step 2 is to duplicate your pointers by converting one into a chambered, selling all other consumables that aren’t pointer, and using chambered (repeat as many times as you want)

step 3 is to farm geminis, oil lamps, tropical smoothies (anything to multiply joker values) until it’s at least x 1e308

step 4 is to create an analog spectral card, a :// quantify code card, and some sort of spectral card that destroys all jokers, if you have a lot (~100+) joker slots (to help with lag later)

step 5: use your quantify to move the analog into the joker tray and then do what you must to multiply its values by 1e308.

step 6: use your analog and gain +1e308 ante. if you have 200+ joker slots you might want to destroy them.

not sure if you can repeat this to get higher ante than 308 but it seems possible (I haven’t tried)
