Healing w/out opioids, need to return to work 5ish days post op

I’m having a laparoscopic hysterectomy in a few months and have asked to be given no opioids out of an abundance of caution against addiction. I am an independent contractor and work multiple jobs. I need to be back to work (retail pop-ups, childcare) at around 5 days post-op. FMLA and doctors notes aren’t an option because I am not an employee, and I cannot afford to skip work or risk being asked not to return. I know it was a poor decision to schedule a hysterectomy, but this is the date I was given and I am not sure when I will have this opportunity again if I choose to cancel the surgery. Not sure what response I’m looking for, I know I’m making a bad choice. I’m just upset this is the only way I can make a hysterectomy work with my job and school commitments.
