Sending parcels to the US

Hi,

I sent a package to the US and following the tracking number correos gave me it says it was delivered, but my recipient never recieved anything, I was never notified, etc.

I doubt the package was stolen but does anyone know if packages usually get moved to a diff company like DHL, UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc and then they issue you a separate tracking number?
