I never changed. I’m just poor
It isn’t fair..
I was stable. I had a great job. I had a good life. I had hobbies.
Everyone around me was well taken care of. Their cars, their rent, their wellbeing, I was the one who brought in the big bucks to provide. I provided for everyone else and I never once asked for anything in return; because that was my job.
Then life hit me in the teeth a few years ago and unfortunately, I’m still recovering financially.
Ive had to do things I’ve never thought I had to do, just so I can get by. I’ve had to ask friends for money, ask family for money, a place to stay, and now, I just get looked at as a sad piece of scrap. I’ve had to go through these “interventions” with people around me asking “what’s wrong” then spewing this unsolicited advice on how I could’ve done better and how bad it looks, and etc. and the truth is, I don’t do hard drugs, I’m not an alcoholic, I don’t have any vices, I’m simply, just poor.
I never changed.. I still love my old hobbies, I still like traveling, I still like doing all things I used to do. The problem is, those things cost money, which I don’t have right now.
It just hurts that for 10-15 years, I was stable, happy, and in a good financial spot. I didn’t hear anybody’s advice then. Not a peep.
But all I hear now is how bad I ended up when they don’t even know half the story.
Sorry… just getting it off my chest
