Conceptual Kewl Tune Guide

Guide

Hey, I picked up the deck today and was at first confused as to what the deck was even trying to do. So I thought I would share what I learned to maybe help other people. This is not an in-depth technical guide. I just want to give an overview of the deck's strategy.

The Main Idea of the Deck

In my opinion the easiest way to understand Kewl Tune is to look at "Kewl Tune Mix" and "Kewl Tune Reco". They both destroy a card when they are used as synchro material. The goal of the Kewl Tune player turn one is to create a setup where they can quick-synchro Mix and Reco away on their opponent's turn to get those effects. The entire archetype is built around this idea. That's why they can use synchro material from the hand. It makes those quick-synchro plays easier. That makes this deck almost feel like a fusion deck. Kewl Tune is basically Synchro Dragontail.

Quick Synchro Facilitators

The cards that allow Kewl-Tune to "fuse" on their opponent's turn are "Kewl Tune Synchro", "Kewl Tune Clip", "Kewl Tune Remix" and "Kewl Tune B2B".

The Payoffs

Using Reco, Mix (and Clip) as synchro materials will trigger their effects when they are used as synchro material to create disruption. But what are we synchroing into? The payoff synchro monsters that can interrupt the opponent are "Kewl Tune RS", "Kewl Tune Crackle", "Kewl Tune Loudness War" and "Zalen the Shackled Dragon".

The Setup

So the goal of the deck is to quick synchro away Mix and Reco to get their disruption effects into the above synchro monsters that create more disruption. But how do we set this up? "Kewl Tune Cue", "Kewl Tune Rotary", "JJ "Kewl Tune"" and "Synchro Overtake" exist to setup the materials needed to quick synchro on the opponent's turn and the quick synchro facilitators that perform the summon.

I hope this little overview is helpful to some
