X3 bonus: how many waves?

Alright, seems the coin dissonance boost is landing on x3 (previously x5 but devs nerfed it to x2, then x3, where it will stay).

how many waves do you need to clear to max this x3 boost? still 5000 waves, or is utility an exception case of only needing to reach 3000 waves?
