Blocked accounts not showing on blocked list
Background:
A few years ago I left an abusive relationship and restarted my life, and I went completely dark on social media up until about six months ago where after my first post, I was getting a lot of unwanted attention from people from my past who stuck with my abuser. I had removed everyone, but kept getting the “someone you may know” notification from a handful of people frequently, as well as story views from these people (and once I have watched as one of them watched the story and immediately blocked me so their name disappeared from my list, I just happened to be looking at just the right time— A week or so AFTER I confirmed that this person had blocked me from the very same account). I decided I didn’t want my skin to crawl every time one of those names popped up, so I just blocked each one. I have a total of five people blocked, including the ex.
Now, it’s been about three months since the full block of all those unwanted people, and I’ve blocked another four or five accounts that have followed me and seem to be burner/fake accounts (for instance, the account was created within the same month, no posts, no mutuals) but my blocked list has not grown at ALL. It still just shows the main people, not the weird accounts.
Instagram says that when you block someone, all their related accounts go with them, but if that was the case what is happening here? Am I making something out of nothing?
Thanks for reading, I would really appreciate any help.
