What’s the problem with the Austin neighborhood?

Moving to Chicago soon, and after looking through the FAQ section of the sub, I have to ask: what *exactly* is the problem with Austin?

Everything I’ve read says I should avoid it, but I can’t find any specifics as to why.

High crime? Bad schools? Yankees fans?

What gives, Chicago?
