Pinzón or Devil’s Crown?
Yikes… need to make a call: Pinzón or Devil’s Crown.
Bit of a long shot, but has anyone actually snorkeled both and can compare?
Right now, I’m planning a land-based itinerary on all islands and have a Pinzón day trip planned from Santa Cruz (seems like everyone raves about it). But I also have the option to hop on a short cruise (in addition to the land-based) that hits Devil’s Crown… which would mean dropping Pinzón.
From what I’ve gathered:
- Pinzón = calmer, shallower water, LOTS of white tips, turtles, maybe marine iguanas (which would be really cool if it’s possible to see them munching on algae on the rocks underwater)
- Devil’s Crown = deeper snorkel, lots of fish, some white tips, maybe some eagle/golden rays, subject to current, often called one of the best snorkel spots in the Galápagos
Galapagos itinerary planning is so hard because so many snorkeling sites sound amazing. And I have major FOMO, so I want to snorkel all the spots, lol.
If you’ve done both Devil’s Crown and Pinzon, which would you pick and why? And if you did Pinzon, did you go on a SPECIFIC boat that you LOVED? Thanks in advance!!! :)
