Is my laser dead?

My PS2 (slim) won't read games anymore. It read them fine when I put it away a couple years ago but now that I'm trying to sell it, it dosent read any. I tried both CD-Rom and DVD-Rom games. I cleaned the lense with some isopropyl alcohol. I also took the top cover off and watched the laser move, and it moved fine. Is my laser dead?
