Bugs (with reproduction steps and impact)

1. Cosmic text editor does not open files via double-click
   • Behavior: double-clicking certain text files opens a new empty document in the editor instead of the file contents.
   • Steps: open file manager → double-click affected .txt file → editor opens blank document.
   • Impact: productivity loss / confusion.
2. NumPad (NumLock) state does not persist after reboot
   • Behavior: NumLock enabled before shutdown is disabled after boot; must enable manually. Does not occur in GNOME.
   • Steps: enable NumLock → shut down → boot → check NumLock state.
   • Impact: inconvenience for NumPad users.
3. Microphone volume reduces automatically when recording audio (Telegram/WhatsApp)
   • Behavior: loud input causes system to reduce microphone gain/volume (e.g., 30 → 17/10) and it does not return to the previous level.
   • Steps: open Telegram/WhatsApp → record voice message with loud speech → observe volume reduction and no return.
   • Impact: inconsistent voice messages; degraded quality.
4. Games do not go fullscreen correctly — dock remains visible
   • Behavior: some games in fullscreen leave the dock visible at the bottom over the game.
   • Steps: start a game in fullscreen → dock remains visible.
   • Impact: impaired gaming experience.
5. Cosmic App Store freezes/does not open
   • Behavior: the store app hangs or fails to start in some cases.
   • Steps: open App Store → app freezes or fails to launch.
   • Impact: cannot install/update apps.

Feature suggestions (description and desired behavior)

1. Shortcut to show desktop / minimize all windows (equivalent to Super+D)
   • Current: no button in the bottom-right of the dock and no default shortcut to show the desktop.
   • Suggestion: implement a default shortcut (e.g., Super+D) and/or a dock button; allow customizing the shortcut in keyboard settings.
2. Night Light / blue light filter
   • Suggestion: built-in option to reduce blue light and warm screen colors on schedule, with adjustable intensity.
3. Persist NumLock state across reboots
   • Suggestion: save/restore NumLock state between sessions/restarts.
4. Microphone AGC control or disable option (Automatic Gain Control)
   • Suggestion: add an option in Sound Settings to disable AGC, adjust mic sensitivity/limits, and persist per-app settings.
5. “Game mode” to auto-hide dock/panels in fullscreen
   • Suggestion: detect fullscreen apps and hide the dock; provide per-app force-hide options.
6. Better file-association handling in the text editor
   • Suggestion: ensure double-click opens the correct file; add checks for encoding/file type and handle corrupted files gracefully.
7. App usage tracking + limits / Digital Wellbeing features
   • Suggestion: a Digital Wellbeing panel that:
     • tracks app usage (daily/weekly);
     • lets you set per-app time limits (e.g., 1 hour for Brave);
     • notifies before the limit and prompts to save work;
     • closes the app when the limit is reached and blocks reopening per policy;
     • supports exceptions (password override, snooze).
