Carbon roof dilemma

I’ve got a 2008 M3 with the carbon roof and the epoxy has failed due to previous owners negligence. I’ve done tons of research on what to do to fix it, but I’ve been recommended to sand it, prime it, and wrap over it. Thoughts on this?
