Finally a Medical Sales Rep
During my senior year of college I realized i wanted into this industry and would eat shit to become a sales rep. I do 6 months of networking interviews just to get to the end and be turned down for no experience. Finally I went to Stryker Onsite, learned a ton about the industry and maneuvered into another company selling disposables.
I’ve been a clinical sales specialist playing “ASR” for 2 years, eating shit and running all over a 3 state territory just waiting for my opportunity. Got the call last week a rep quit and my boss and their boss called me asking if I was interested. Just did my final interview today and found out the job is officially mine.
Wanted to make this post as a way for people tryna break in to stay patient and you will get there. Keep networking and staying gritty. It’s hard but you will make it.
For everyone in sales and who maybe had a similar experience, how did you handle your first 30/60/90 days? I will be obviously in the same company but learning a completely new side of the company. I know the products but the call points will all be completely new to me. How can I get ahead and grow this territory? The territory is also underperforming and not doing great…. I think this leaves a ton of room for growth and opportunity for me. We have a good product it’s just a competitive landscape. The rep who quit was also Triple dipping…… so I question how much he was even in the territory pushing business.
Any advice helps and like I said, for anyone trying to break in, keep your head up and keep networking ! I felt stuck for so long and now I made it. Feels surreal but if I can do it ….. anyone can, trust me hahaha
