The Nintendo switch is such an awesome machine

Many years ago in 2017, I received for my birthday one of the first ever Nintendo Switches. I remember both joycons were grey - just the way I wanted it. Some of my best memories gaming - fortnite, Minecraft, Mario kart etc - were made on that machine.

Anyway fast forward to today when I found it in a cupboard. This thing had been abused - stickers on the back, the stand was gone (this was before they introduced the whole body stand) and it seemed that one of the joycons had failed and was replaced by a red one. Well I plugged it in and sure enough it turned on. Not only that, but when I updated Fortnite to check my old account and old skins (particularly a full gold Midas), the game not only loaded, but was fast enough that I could play a game of squads, literally get a victory royale - handheld - and only use 10% battery. For an almost 10 year old handheld battery machine that probably hasn't been used properly in 3 years is remarkable.

Kudos to Nintendo and the smart Japanese people behind the switch. I will definitely be considering a new one.
