Crown’s Office Wardrobe Tips

Hey all!!! I’m going to be articling in a Crown’s Office soon and I’m hoping for some wardrobe tips!

I’ve seen a couple posts of people asking what suits they can wear in court and they seem to indicate that Crowns are held to a higher standard - I was wondering how accurate this is? Is it limited to black, navy, and charcoal or are there some other colours that are allowed? I figure I’ll need more than three suits but wasn’t sure if shades like light grey, dark green, brown, or burgundy are acceptable? If it is just the Big 3 isn’t it kinda weird to be wearing the same 3 outfits over and over?

Also kind of a side question for the ladies, what are we wearing under our suits? Button downs seem to be the norm for men but I’ve seen some women wear blouses or like aritizia-type tops underneath. Is that considered professional enough? I hate a button down and am hoping there’s another way lol
