Title

when I was a kid my mom would do this weird thing.

i could be eating soup. and she would rush in, randomly determine that the soup (which had just hit edible temperature) was too cold and slam it in the microwave while exclaming how cold it was. she would then zap it up to a painful temperature. then freak out that I wasn't delving into molten Chunky. my mouth got blisters. eventually I learned not to eat soup around her. because taking a second and asking the person who was eating the soup wasn't important. her incorrect perception of the situation was.

she never took two seconds to ask if the soup was too cold for me (when it was still TOO hot to ingest). she just ran in. made a decision based on absolutely no evidence. and popped it back in the microwave. even though I was the one that was eating it. and she did that A LOT. she saw a situation she didn't need to be involved in. made it worse, and then acted surprised people weren't happy with her haphazard 'solution' that wasn't even asked for.

she just walked in. determined that her solution was needed without asking, and just lept to it. and these are like my exact adult problems with her.

I told her to stop doing something for two years. hell I wrote it out on a google document and sent it to her, telling her in no uncertain terms she needed to stop doing something. and nope, she just rushed into the kitchen, grabbed the soup bowl away from me, and slammed it in the microwave. because god forbid when someone says something needs to stop, it actually stops.

i don't regret a minute since I stopped talking to her.
