No need to test further?

Dr said they would test hemoglobin/hematocrit first and if they came back normal they felt no need to test anything else.
Hemoglobin came back 14.8 and hematocrit was 44.9

Am I wrong that even if those numbers are good that it could still be iron deficient?

I went to a different clinic today and asked for a full work up....did I waste my time?
