Am I doing something wrong or is it not meant to be?
Context: I don't have an isht. I thought, why have an isht when every form is anyways of parmatma. I have always felt attracted to Durga devi but my spiritual joirney started with Shiv ji. Praying to Bholenath always made me feel happy. Like I would do the smallest of things, and he would show me signs of constant presence in my life. I somehow felt he was ushering me towards Krishna and hence the switch.
Backstory: So, I have been praying to Krishna for a long time now. I used to visit Balaji temples every Saturday, and as a working person, I would try to pray every day without fail.
In my weekly temple visits, I wouldn't ask anything from Krishna. All I would say is give me strength, guidance and that I never lose my sadbuddhi. I truly believe in Karma yoga and try to live as prescribed by it. But ever since I started praying to Krishna, I haven't experienced any such signs like a lot of devotees do. It's been 4-5 years since, and my life has drastically gone downhill. I no longer have the strength or patience to keep at it. I think I have reached my tipping point.
Even in these times, remembering Shiva even once has shown some kind of immediate relief. I thought God is testing me. I have begged for guidance and support and some kind relief, but I have received none.
I just have a lot of respect for Vishnu as he is balancing so many things in the universe, and his avtars have undergone a lot of pain to teach us valuable lessons. I still abide and live by BG no matter how hard it is, and I don't intend to let go of that. But honestly speaking, I have never felt acknowledged for my persistence.
Is this a sign I should abandon Krishna worship and switch back? I do not disrespect him, but it's not working, I think. Has anyone undergone a similar experience? I don't want to seem like a turn coat, but I'm very distressed.
