MRes experiences

Hello,

I am an international student who's been accepted into UCL for a 1-year MRes program in the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences starting in September. I am really excited to be in London. However, I am a bit stressed about the workload. I have not seen much online about people's experiences with MRes programs at UCL or otherwise (only MSc programs).

Since MRes programs seem to be more focused on independent study, how is your workload/stress level compared to MSc students in your cohort?

What are you doing now? Are there any of you who did not go onto a PhD?

Do you have any advice for incoming students (especially international students)?

If anyone with experience or insight could tell me about their time these programs I would appreciate it!
