franchise mode and research

I have a franchise zoo ive kept up for a while as I gain and lose interestg in the game but im about to start a new zoo but I have a couple questions beforehand because im using my cash flow positive zoo to finish some researches before starting over

I did some googling before making this post but didin't really find anything.

I know animal researches are only available once the animal is in your zoo but is the same true for diseases or can you research all of them right away. What I mean is do the diseases only show if you have an animal that can catch it?

do you need workshops once you finish the mechanic researches or is that only to get the notification to go away?

also the main reason I made this post any tips on using the transportation methods I find that I usually just make a straight 10m wide path from my entrance to the other end until it gets kind of annoying or I get bored for a few months.

it looks like2 I could follow my original plan of a 12m path and then just have a gandala around it

also I made a mistake with my current zoo and put the eurasian lynx towards the front and they are constantly getting stressed. Is there a list anywhere of all the shy animals particularly ones that need barriers grade 2 and up since I can't use 1 way glass?
