You will not break me! But I have broken my husband!

My husband is not a Sci-Fi or Fantasy or Lit RPG reader or reader at all. However, I have exposed him to so much of Dungeon Crawler Carl over the years that I’ve thoroughly broken him. Cases in point:

1. DCC audio books are the only audio books I catch him actually listening to as I drive. Every once in a while he’ll stop me and ask questions like … “what is up with that ranting English guy and why does he keep screaming?”

2. A month or more ago he said, and I quote, “Goddamit, Donut! Ummm is that right?” When something Goddamit, Donut worthy happened.

3. Last weekend we were walking in a mall and he was asking me why I put my wallet in the pocket I put it in (6 pockets were options). I said, “If I put it in the other pockets it would be flipping around.” Then I looked him straight in the eye and said, “You know how I feel about flopping, Jeff” (I had to use his name) and he burst out in hysterical laughter.

He may not have read the series, but he is broken to the ways of DCC!!!

I’d love stories of others that have broken friends or family without them even reading or listening to a whole book!
