Is our situation possible or are we totally crazy??

suggestions wanted

My husband and I just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant! We will be first-time parents.

My husband is in his first year of medical school. His school has a hybrid-like approach, where his lectures are all online, so he's only on campus for about 5-10 hours a week. He does everything else at home. In total I would estimate he's doing school work for about 50-60 hours a week.

I work full-time from home. My work is semi-flexible, where I have unlimited PTO (of course to an extent, they only flag your PTO if it's more than 300 hours in a fiscal year or if you are not performing well) and my schedule is generally mine to manage. They want us to try to work regular hours, but I've never heard anything from my manager if I'm offline for a few hours. I'm one of the highest performers on my team and my manager really values me. The work can often be very slow, so I would say I typically am actively working only 20 hours a week. I spend the rest of the 20 hours a week waiting for work to come in. Generally that looks like reading, watching TV, exercising, or doing stuff around the house. I generally have about 1-4 hours of meetings a day. Most of those meetings I am able to schedule myself, so I choose when to schedule them. When I have the baby, I will get 12 weeks of paid leave, but my husband will not get any leave from school.

Am I crazy for thinking I can take care of the baby and work from home with minimal paid help? I'm really not interested in a daycare, but I'm open to the idea of having a part-time nanny or shared nanny. I have family that is close-ish (2.5 hours away), and my mom is planning on taking work off for a week to help postpartum, but none of them could just come help all the time or on a whim. I don't know many people in our area, but my neighborhood is generally supportive and would certainly offer some meals and potentially some baby help if needed.

My husband is feeling incredibly anxious about the whole situation, and I'm also feeling a bit anxious as well. It anyone has any advice or words of wisdom they would be greatly appreciated!
