Small campervan during golden week?
My wife and I saw that tickets were affordable from May 2-11, so we jumped at it and got our flights booked without realising that it was smack in the middle of golden week.
We'll land in Kansai airport and are planning to rent a small campervan and drive around, perhaps in either the Wakayama region or around Shikokou.
We both enjoy nature and good unique regional food. My wife loves anything craft related, but especially anything with fabrics. I enjoy tea and cooking (definitely will drop by Sakai to get myself a knife or two!)
hope that tells you enough about us and our trip to answer these few questions:
- What considerations should we take note of driving around during golden week, especially in the regions I mentioned?
- Which of the 2 (Wakayama or Shikokou) would you recommend and why? or if you have recommendations for yet another route or region, please feel free to share!
- If you have any particularly special recommendations (a craft market, small restaurant with good food, knife shop, teaware shop, tea garden, hike etc), please feel free to drop them and I'll try to incorporate it into my itinerary!
