What is it that you like about Silent Hill?

Hey everyone, these games have had a really big impact on me and I'd like to know what it is that you all resonate with in the plot to see if anyone likes them for the same reasons I do. Specifically Silent Hill 2 and 3. Silent Hill 2 really effectively makes me feel all of the guilt I have for decisions in past relationships vicariously, while Silent Hill 3 reminds me of the nightmares I had as a child. I also hate being patronised, growing up the youngest in my family, which I think allowed me to understand Heather's anger a lot more.

What do you all think? I am really interested to know what draws people to this series/if any of you feel similarly.
