Wednesday Par 3 Competition Tips (from 2026)
I used this forum a lot to prepare for my first time at the Master's - on Wednesday. So I am posting my experience and tips in hopes this helps someone in the future.
1. Merch: Unless you get there at 6:30am, I would wait until the afternoon to visit the Merch store. We got there around 8:30 and waited almost 90 minutes to get inside. Everything highly sought after (gnomes, Par 3 hats, etc) was all gone. Since we were just wanting a couple of pull overs and shirts, we easily could've waited and gone in the afternoon where the line was shorter and not spent so much time waiting in line.
2. Schedule:
- Once we waited in line so long at the merch store we went straight to Founder's Circle to get a picture, but found out it closes at 10am. If this is important to you, get there early! I'd read online it was 12pm, but that wasn't the case this year.
- Then walk over and set up your chair at the 8th hole tee box, nearest to the rope. The players will walk right beside you on the way from the tee box to the green. Plus you can see holes 8 and 9. It was a perfect spot if you don't want to walk and follow a specific player(s).
- Then do driving range, or based on timing you can start walking the course. Most of the big names were on the course practicing before the Par 3 Competition started. We walked most of the course and just bumped into players, without a real plan.
- Make sure to visit Hole 16 for the skipping competition. We saw 4 players participate and it was a lot of fun.
- We walked the course until about 2pm when the players we really wanted to see would be at Hole 8. There is a pairing and tee time list available at the Par 3 course.
- If you want a beer for the Par 3 competition, make sure to get it before you head to the Par 3 course. No beer is sold there and it's a long-ish walk to near the nearest area that does.
- After it was over, we hung out and just enjoyed the scenery until 7pm and there was absolutely no traffic when we left.
We had an absolute blast and this forum was so helpful so hoping this helps someone else plot out their day!
