Blank desktop on os9 : blank menu bar, no icon

Hi, I'm trying to restore an iMac G3. I added a sata SSD with startech sata2usb, and I'm booting with os 9.2.2 from an USB stick containing an freshly burned image. I managed to boot from the USB, and then format the SSD just after the physical installation. I didn't install OS9 on SSD yet (as the Mac was not yet reassembled) After a shutdown, plastic case reassembly and a new startup, when I'm booting on the USB stick, it ends on a void max OS9 desktop this time. Clock is here, but no text no icon and no menu bar (even no coloured Apple in menu bar)

Any idea about how to troubleshoot this?
